Social media addiction is a phrase sometimes used to refer to someone who is spending too much time using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other forms so much so that it interferes with other aspects of daily life. There's no official medical recognition of social media addiction as a disease or disorder. Still, the cluster of behaviors associated with heavy or excessive use of social media has become the subject of much discussion and research.

Social media addiction usually refers to compulsive of behavior that leads to negative effects. People feel compelled to do certain activities so often that they become a harmful habit, which then interferes with other important activities such as work or college and daily life.

Therefore, someone who uses social media is excessive and forces himself to use social media. This is because they want to update their social media status regularly. Too many social sites today that are very interesting to everyone. Everyone wants to know and use new apps to look up to date and interesting.

It's hard to tell that this addiction is not good for all. This addiction is very disturbing the day-to-day activities and time spent with just social media. For a growing child or teenager this is very bad for them. We are all aware that at this time, children as young as 4 years old are also well-versed in gadgets and surfing social media for entertainment.
