While you might shutter at the thought of putting both white and dark chocolate on the legendary French fries of McDonald’s, you might be surprised to hear that the combination is quite tasty. The sweetness combines with the saltiness of the fries to create a unique taste.
Plenty of American pizza chains exist in South Korea, including Poppa Johns, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut. However, don’t be surprised at some of the interesting topping choices. Corn, potatoes, baked mayo, and shrimp are commonly found on pizza. However, one of my favorite is the burger and fries pizza. The crust of the pizza includes a miniature burger patty, while French fries are baked on top.
Perhaps the only place one gets to choose between regular and waffle fries at a McDonald’s is in Korea. They are thinly cut, and taste more like a potato chip. You can also add the chocolate topping .
While you may know it as a CRONUT, Dunkin’ Donuts in Korea has taken their spin on this once-trendy pastry. Other than New York, Korea was the only other place to secure a cronut at one time. They were baked twice a day, and people waited in line to get their hands on one.
This fried pastry is the Korean cousin to the American apple pie from McDonald’s. With a crunchy chocolate shell and gooey chocolate goodness inside, this pie reminds me of a molten lava cake.
